Un po' di casa.

Finora ho sempre scritto il mio blog in italiano, nonostante ciò ho deciso per il nuovo anno di scrivere sia in italiano che in inglese, così da poter dare la possibilità anche ad amici che non parlano l'italiano di leggere e capire di cosa parlo (soprattutto dopo che un'amica mi ha detto che avrebbe usato Translate --no no no non mi piace).

So far I have always written my blog in my mother tongue --Italian. Nevertheless, for the new year I decided to start writing in both Italian and English, so this might help some friends of mine who don't speak Italian but would like to read and understand what I talk about.

Il mio primo post dell'anno riguarda un acquisto fatto nell'inverno del 2013 (potreste averlo intravisto qui).

Ho comperato questo tapestry più di un anno fa, quando ero ancora a Bangor per l'Erasmus. 

Quando l'ho preso non ho tuttavia considerato quanto potesse essere grande (non avevo pensato nemmeno alla conversione inches-centimetri). Quindi, una volta portato a casa (casa casa in Italia), non ho potuto appenderlo da nessuna parte anche perché le pareti di camera mia erano già piene di immagini, mensole e cose varie (la mia camera non è molto grande ma con il tempo ho cercato di sfruttarla al meglio e personalizzarla e l'adoro per com'è, dato che rispecchia anche la mia personalità), perciò l'ho semplicemente piegato con cura e messo nel mio armadio. Mi sono tuttavia fatta una promessa: ogni qual volta sarà lontana da casa per un certo periodo, lo porterò con me così da avere un pezzettino di casa sempre appeso al muro, ovunque io sarò. E dato che il mio tapestry riporta il disegno dell'Albero della Vita, lo trovo ancora più speciale e ricco di significato.

My first post of the year is about a purchase I made in Winter 2013 (you might have already spot it here).I bought this beautiful tapestry over one year ago when I was still studying in Bangor for my exchange program. When I bought it I didn't realise how big this tapestry was (thank you Urban Outfitters US, I forgot to convert inches into cms). Besides, as I brought it back home (sweet home), I could not hang it anywhere since my bedroom's walls had already been filled with pictures and shelves and other stuff (I don't have a very big bedroom but I always try to make the best of it and I love it the way it is --because it is mine and it kinda reflects my personality). Thus I did gently fold my tapestry and put it in a paper bag and put it away in my closet. However I made myself this promise: whenever I will be far from home for a short or long period of time, I am going to take it with me just to have a little piece of home always hung on the wall, wherever I will be. As my tapestry has a Tree of Life picture on it, I find it even more special and significant. ❤️
